About the Role:
We are seeking an innovative and highly motivated Associate Creative Director (ACD) of Writing to join Shark Beauty’s Global Creative Team. This role is ideal for a seasoned writer with a passion for product storytelling, strategic thinking, and experience in the beauty industry. You will play a critical role in developing, defining, and maintaining the voice of Shark Beauty and aligning with the overall brand strategy. The ACD will oversee all written content across the funnel, collaborate with cross-functional teams including brand marketing, engineering, digital experience, product development, project managers, and executive leadership to craft compelling narratives that resonate with beauty consumers and elevate our Shark Beauty products.
A good candidate is a conceptual thinker with robust experience bringing product stories to life through integrated campaigns and go-to-market product launches—positioning, branding, advertising, social media campaigns, website development, packaging apps, email, video, and more.

Key Responsibilities:
- Creative Leadership: Lead the development of creative concepts and storytelling for new-to-market products, ensuring all written content reflects the brand’s voice, appeals to target audiences and drives consumer-centric product focus messaging.
- Beauty Industry Expertise: Leverage your knowledge of beauty products, trends, and consumer behavior to create copy that is both relatable and compelling within the beauty space. Have a deep understanding on how to create product stories that drive a HROS and create category of one for each of our products.
- Product Storytelling: Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, CI and Marketing teams to create beauty-focused product content that drives engagement and achieves business goals for various formats, including web content, social media, email marketing, product packaging, and promotional materials.
- Copywriting: Develop and oversee all beauty-related written content, including website copy, product descriptions, social media posts, email marketing, beauty tutorial scripts, and product packaging.
- Content Creation: Write and edit high-quality copy for various formats, including web content, social media, email marketing, product packaging, and promotional materials.
- Market Research & Innovation: Stay abreast of emerging beauty industry trends, consumer insights, and competitive landscape to inform creative strategies and identify opportunities for growth. Be able to apply this thinking to ensure our stories across the beauty space stay ahead of the competition.
- Pivot Quickly: Experienced multitasker and is not intimidated by the thought of juggling multiple projects in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment. Partner closely with our CI team to inform and iterate our product stories. Utilize testing and feedback to assess the effectiveness of copy initiatives and make data-driven decisions to refine future projects.
- Team Collaboration: Team player and self-starter with a passion for design and finding smart solutions to complex problems. Ability to synthesize complex and often competing feedback into a variety of solutions
- Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior copywriters, particularly in refining their writing for beauty products and campaigns.
- Quality Control: Review all beauty copy to ensure the highest level of quality, accuracy, and alignment with both brand and beauty industry standards.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 7+ years of copywriting in-house or agency, with at least 3 years in a leadership role within the beauty industry, either at a beauty brand or agency specializing in beauty.
- Online Portfolio: Online portfolio with a heavy emphasis beauty product story development, branding, creative problem-solving, and full-funnel campaign work
- Product Storytelling: Exceptional storytelling skills, with a proven ability to shape beauty product narratives that resonate with different consumer segments.
- Strategic Thinker: Ability to understand business objectives within the beauty industry and translate them into creative writing solutions.
- Beauty Digital Expertise: Deep understanding of beauty trends across digital and social platforms, and how to adapt copy for beauty audiences.
- Leadership: Experience managing and mentoring creative teams, with a proven ability to inspire and lead by example.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a strong ability to present and sell creative beauty concepts to stakeholders.
- Attention to Detail: Impeccable proofreading skills and an eye for detail, ensuring all beauty-related content meets industry and brand standards.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Beauty Industry Experience: Experience working directly with beauty brands, retail, or eCommerce environments, particularly in skincare, cosmetics, or fragrance.
- Familiarity with SEO and content optimization best practices for beauty products.
- Previous experience working closely with design teams to ensure synergy between visual and written beauty campaigns.
