As an Electrician in the Bridges Division, you'll play a critical role in keeping these systems running safely and reliably. If you enjoy hands-on electrical work, problem-solving, and a role where no two days are the same, this is an opportunity to build a meaningful and stable career.

What You'll Do
- Perform advanced electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on movable bridges and related systems
- Maintain electrical systems including pump stations, streetlights, building systems, and surveillance equipment
- Support electrical needs across other City departments as needed
- Respond to after-hours emergencies, including bridge malfunctions and weather-related incidents (on-call rotation)
- Assist Electrician II in all required duties and be able to perform duties solo in the event that there are multiple location issues or in the absence of the Electrician II.
What We're Looking For
- State of Virginia Journeyman Electrician Certification
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, tools, and safety practices
- Familiarity with National Electrical Code and applicable regulations
- Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights up to 200 feet, including over water
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects within timelines and budget
