Monday - Friday

8:15 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. (Hours may vary depending on the needs of the office)

Salary:

GS 7: $49,474.00 - $64,317.00

GS 9: $60,515.00 - $78,669.00

GS 11: $73,218.00 - $95,181.00

Full Performance level: GS 12

Physical Demands

The work requires some physical exertion, such as long periods of walking, standing, bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching and a recurring need to lift moderately heavy items.

Work Environment

Work is performed mostly in an office setting, however, may be required to work in the presence of moving parts, carts, machines, high electrical voltage, and construction work sites.

Major Duties:

  • Operates and maintains field office facilities, to include physical structures, utilities, surrounding grounds, roadways, outside barriers, as well as programs and services essential to maintaining a safe, healthy, and comfortable facility.
  • Performs a variety of administrative services to inspect, maintain, repair/modify facilities, and to operate facility programs and services efficiently.
  • Revises, alters, or completely redesigns existent graphic layouts to ensure the most practical, functional, and cost-effective approach for the field office.
  • Coordinates the evaluation of all building maintenance, alterations, deficiencies, and repairs such as: electricity, air conditioning, heating, telephones, elevator service, and special equipment maintained in office space. Conducts onsite inspections and create "punch lists" for repairs, etc.
  • Determines and projects funding requirements and justifies budget requests. Assists in developing a budget, monitoring budgetary expenditures, and blanket purchase agreements.
  • Liaisons with FBIHQ entities to facilitate and coordinate sensitive compartmented information facility (SCIF) renovation and building-out requirements, contracts and obtains funding for office furniture and equipment, and provides drawings and requirements for the layout and procurement of office spaces.
  • Serves as the point of contact for all the General Services Administration (GSA) issues pertaining to the field office.
  • Coordinates the administration of space acquisitions, building operations, maintenance, movement/relocation, and destruction of confidential trash. Secures engineering surveys or outside bids and initiates appropriate requests through FBIHQ, GSA, etc. Monitors work performed by contractors according to standard specifications. Assesses quality and completeness of work so operations are not interrupted.
  • Coordinates with FBIHQ the negotiating and administering of lease agreements, including operating and maintenance agreements.
  • Organizes and attends meetings/conferences with GSA, lessors, OSHA officials, and a variety of building management personnel, to discuss building maintenance, safety and fire regulations, environmental quality, facilities, operations, standards, and other tenant matters.
  • Coordinates all applicable facility matters with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). Ensures that all OSHA rules and regulations are complied with and/or implemented.

      Specialized Experience (SE):

      GS 7: Applicant must possess at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS 5 grade level. SE is defined as follows:

      • Assisted with space management allocation decision-making and program requirements for an office/facility.
      • Received requests and/or complaints and communicated with appropriate entities for further action.

      GS 9: Applicant must possess at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS 7 grade level. SE is defined as follows:

      • Assisted with space management allocation decision-making and program requirements for an office/facility
      • Received requests and/or complaints regarding lighting, heating, air conditioning, carpeting, or painting and communicated with appropriate entities for further action. 
      • Assisted in conducting on-site safety and fire safety inspections and surveys to verify compliance with GSA or OSHA codes. 

      GS 11: Applicant must possess at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS 9 grade level. SE is defined as follows:

      • Reviewed detailed blueprints and layouts to determine the best utilization of workspace.
      • Coordinated service, repair, and installations related to building maintenance with appropriate entities and ensured issues were resolved.
      • Assisted in conducting on-site safety and fire safety inspections and surveys to verify compliance with GSA or OSHA codes.
      • Planned and coordinated overall supply, equipment, and material requirements pertaining to a facility project or job plan. 

      Education

      All degrees must be from an accredited college or university. Education may be substituted for specialized experience as follows:

      GS 7: Applicant must have a bachelor's degree with superior academic achievement or one (1) full year of graduate level education. Superior academic achievement is the completion of all the requirements of a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, which is based on (1) class standing, (2) grade-point average of 3.0 or higher as recorded on an official transcript, or as based on courses completed during the final two years of the curriculum, or (3) honor society membership.

      GS 9: Applicant must have a master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related.

      GS 11: Applicant must have a Ph.D. OR equivalent doctoral degree OR 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree OR LL.M., if related.

      Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the above requirements provided you can show foreign education is comparable to that received in an accredited educational institution in the United States.

      EDUCATION REQUIREMENT: 

      To substitute education for SE for this position, the Undergraduate and/or Graduate Major Study MUST be in one of the following fields: engineering, industrial arts, property management, or business administration.
