Role Overview
This position requires a senior IT Business Systems Analyst to analyze business processes and practices to design and implement information technology solutions. The role involves applying advanced analytical skills to solve complex problems and recommend best practices. The ideal candidate will work independently at the intersection of people, technology, and operations, translating technical risks into actionable business insights to support decision-making and ensure secure, efficient operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze business processes to identify interdependencies, functional gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
- Establish and manage effective relationships with users of business, financial, and operations systems.
- Translate cybersecurity risks, vulnerabilities, and OT exposures into business-relevant impacts and options.
- Partner with business, infrastructure, and OT teams to understand real-world system usage and support reliability and security outcomes.
- Lead application testing processes, manage documentation updates, and drive process improvement initiatives.
- Support decision-making by framing risk, tradeoffs, and remediation paths.
- Assist with security reviews for OT environments and hybrid IT/OT architectures.
- Contribute to risk assessments, exception reviews, and the creation of clear summaries and risk narratives for leadership.
- Help standardize repeatable processes and templates to reduce friction.
Education: A Bachelor's degree in a related field such as Computer Science, Information Systems, or Business Administration is required.
Experience: 11-15 years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst, with expertise in IT budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis. Experience in one or more of the following areas is sought: OT, ICS, or industrial environments; gas, energy, utilities, or critical infrastructure operations; IT infrastructure, networking, or systems administration; or cybersecurity, risk management, or vulnerability management.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong ability to analyze complex problems and communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- A self-starter with the ability to work with various teams with minimal guidance.
- Demonstrated ability to create reports, metrics, and analyses that convey messages succinctly.
- A curious mindset and a willingness to learn and ask questions.
