This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced IT professional to join a strong, collaborative team in a senior level role.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Interact directly with business partners at all levels of the organization to define, analyze, and document requirements, as well as set priorities
  • Act as a champion and trusted advisor for the needs of our business partners
  • Develop deep knowledge and expertise in Wellington specific workflows
  • Author functional, design and support documentations
  • Collaborate with software developers, database architects, vendors and other IT and business teams to analyze and determine functional specifications and UI design for new applications and enhancements to existing applications
  • Develop a strong partnership with the delivery team to ensure on-time, scalable, and high-quality business solutions
  • Provide regular status reporting and issue tracking on projects
  • Provide input into system design to help the development team define effort and implementation schedules
  • Provide oversight for the various phases of testing and user acceptance
  • On a rotational basis, provide production support to our business users and act as an escalation point person for support issues that require detailed analysis and management
  • Manage production incidents, determining root cause, appropriate corrective actions and follow-up
  • Engage in Vendor/Broker management tasks and work with our business team to execute project work, enhancements and raise defects on vendor platforms

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, Economics, Finance or related subject
  • 5+ years BA or system analysis experience
  • Understanding of financial instruments such as equities, bonds, swaps, options, futures, forwards and FX
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with high attention to detail
  • Strong client relationship skills and proven ability to build consensus
  • Candidates must possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy; a big-picture vision, and an ability to work with various internal teams to execute on that vision
  • Experience working directly with business partners to understand their needs and deliver solutions that meet those needs
  • Experience writing requirements, functional specifications, use cases, and test plans
  • Experience in IT change, incident and problem management and SDLC
  • Change agent, creative, innovative and focused on continuous improvement
  • Hands-on knowledge of SQL, or another relational database technology
  • Experience using project tracking tools, such as Jira or Service Now
  • Experience supporting critical production applications
  • High degree of enthusiasm to work independently in an energetic, fast-paced, business-critical and team oriented-environment
  • Intellectual curiosity and interest to learn independently and from peers

Not sure you meet 100% of our qualifications? That’s ok. If you believe that you could excel in this role, we encourage you to apply and welcome a chance to review your background.
