Under the broad supervision of the Director of Video Services, the Video Production Manager is responsible for assisting with the management of video production for a high volume of varied and dynamic concerts and events both on and off the Berklee Boston campus. The Video Production Manager works together with the Video Services team and with the other production departments to record video, implement creative stage designs and run video cues. This role works in venues across campus, in the video production suite, and in office settings to direct, capture, stream and edit video footage for a variety of clients and uses.

MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.

  • 3+ years demonstrated experience in video operations, including a thorough knowledge of cameras, recorders, video switchers, streaming protocols, signal distribution and projection.

  • Strong technical skills to provide a working knowledge of the design, maintenance and upgrade, and operation of video equipment in a wide variety of settings and usage.

  • Understanding of safety protocols and standards applicable to event production.

  • Demonstrated knowledge and competence in use of applicable software for video editing, video cueing

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE:

Video Production and Design

  • Direct the video recording process. Recordings can be anything from a single camera to 8 cameras, PTZ’s, green screen, live switching, in venues or in a studio.

  • Playback video content in live cued scenarios. Familiarity with software such as Qlab, Resolume, other playback and video mapping software is desirable, as well as an understanding of projection and LED screen technologies.

  • Assist with the video design for staged events.

  • Assist with installation, configuration, and maintenance of video equipment

Video Editing and Data Management

  • Assist with creation of custom content for use in live and streamed scenarios (video effects, lower thirds, backgrounds..)

  • Assist with editing recorded content for quality control and distribution

  • Assist with collection and storage of video and audio files

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and take initiative.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and a positive, even-tempered attitude. Ability to exercise proper action and attitude in handling incidents and the pressure and demands of the live entertainment industry.

  • Knowledge of emerging technologies, legal issues and safety standards in the industry.

  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervision of student employees in Video Services department working on events and projects

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Shared office space

  • Will work in multiple and diverse performance venues throughout the Berklee campus and occasionally off campus.
