Our well-known Retail client is seeking a Apparel Technical Designer to join their team for the next 6 months, 40 hours/week. This role is hybrid onsite 4 days a week in Beaverton, OR.

The Technical Designer is responsible for coordinating fit, construction, and product development activities from initial concept through commercialization and production for assigned apparel styles. This role ensures products meet design intent, fit standards, quality expectations, and manufacturing requirements while supporting on-time development and delivery. Deep knowledge of garment construction and manufacturing processes
Experience creating and maintaining detailed Tech Packs
Proficiency with CLO 3D software
Proficiency with Adobe Illustrator
Ability to interpret design intent and provide technical solutions
Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously

Additional Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Apparel Design, Textile Science, or a related field preferred
Two additional years of relevant product creation experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
Experience across the full apparel development lifecycle, including pattern making, grading, construction, materials, costing, manufacturing, and quality
Experience writing product specifications and construction standards
Experience working directly with factory vendors to improve manufacturability and product quality
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
Experience with Optitex CAD Pattern Design software preferred
Experience with PCX and/or Miro preferred

Responsibilities
Coordinate fit, construction, and development activities for assigned apparel styles from concept through production
Create, update, and maintain technical packages, product specifications, prototype notes, and related development documentation
Facilitate and track prototype development to ensure timely execution of key milestones
Lead and participate in fit sessions, evaluate garment fit, and communicate fit corrections and construction recommendations
Interpret design concepts and translate them into commercially viable products while maintaining design intent
Partner with Design, Product Management, Development, and Manufacturing teams throughout the product creation process
Collaborate with factory vendors to resolve technical issues and improve manufacturability, fit, and product quality
Develop and communicate construction standards, measurement specifications, and fit requirements
Review patterns, grading, and construction details to ensure consistency and accuracy
Manage multiple concurrent projects while meeting development calendars and delivery timelines
Support the commercialization process by ensuring products are production-ready and meet quality standards
Maintain clear communication with cross-functional partners and technical design team members throughout development and production stages
