Our client, the fashion creative team of a leading retailer, is seeking an Associate Creative Director with fashion industry experience. This role will start early January and will be mostly remote to start, but will require being local to the Los Angeles office to come in as needed for occasional meetings and photoshoots. This role will be 3-6 months to start with potential to extend or convert to full-time. If the role converts to fulltime, you will then be required to work onsite 3 days per week.
The client may also consider NYC based candidates who can come into their Hoboken office as needed. NYC based candidates will only be considered if they are willing to relocate to LA on their own if the position converts to fulltime.
The ideal candidate will be an ACD with strong fashion retail industry experience and both in-house and agency experience working on fully integrated campaigns across a wide range of projects including videos, stills, photo/video shoots, social media, stills, paid media, in-store signage, billboards, emails, typography, presentations, etc.
The Associate Creative Director of Fashion will:
- Develop and execute innovative, insight-driven concepts, and set the bar for modern, relevant, compelling, and aspirational seasonal fashion campaigns and initiatives
- Manage a small design pod of about 6-7 creatives
- Oversee elevated, consistent graphic design application in post-production
- Develop strategic ideas that enhance KPIs around brand awareness, engagement, and loyalty
- Manage and contribute to a team responsible for designing modern, on-brand visual worlds, writing scripts, partnering with production to identify collaborators (e.g., casting director, editor), overseeing casting, music, location, shot lists, and other sub-workstreams and decks
- Attend shoots, manage post-production (including editing and color grading), and ensure the final delivery of asset suites
- Stay abreast of industry trends, consumer preferences, and competitive landscapes to inform creative decisions
- Ensure all creative materials maintain brand consistency across various levels of the consumer funnel
- Build relationships with studio peer teams, such as marketing, fashion office, and editorial, to sustain and grow business
The Associate Creative Director of Fashion must have:
- 8+ years of experience in a creative role, including proven experience as an ACD or similar within fashion retail industry
- Experience in both concepting and delegating while still being hands-on to execute work as needed
- Proficiency in Adobe CS, Figma, Google Slides, Slack, PPT, and Microsoft OS
- Strong understanding of fashion trends and consumer behavior
- Portfolio showcasing a wide range of fully integrated creative projects
- Experience presenting work to leadership and working through multiple levels of approvals
- Strong leadership and team management skills and experience managing/mentoring Senior ADs through Designers
- Bachelor's degree in Design or similar field
BONUS: mix of both in-house and agency experience is strongly preferred!
