Summary of Role: The Benefit Service Center Representative will act as a liaison for our clients’ employees and resolve emerging problems that the employees may face with accuracy and efficiency. The representative will respond to telephone inquiries related to benefit plan questions or eligibility issues questions and will educate callers about our client’s health programs and resources. The ideal candidate will have excellent verbal communication and organizational skills and be able to effectively handle multiple tasks and priorities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Handle incoming calls from employees of our clients and perform follow up calls as necessary
- Assist callers with questions regarding their employer’s benefit plans and educate as needed
- Resolve enrollment eligibility issues
- Provide professional, knowledgeable and responsive customer service
- Log all calls, tasks and emails into our Client Information System, Salesforce, within a timely manner
- Participate in special projects as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Detailed oriented; ability to multitask
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and demanding environment
- Ability to learn quickly and apply to learnings work
- Working knowledge of Medical, Dental, Vision Health and Flexible Spending Accounts preferred
- Knowledge of MS Excel, MS Word, and MS Outlook
- Bilingual in Spanish is a plus
Education and/or Experience:
- Experience working in a call center environment is preferred
- At least 2 Years of College or university degree or equivalent experience preferred
- 2 or more years of health insurance experience preferred
Certificates, Licenses, Registration:
- NYS Life, Accident and Health License Required – must obtain within 90 days of hire

The base salary range for this position is $35,000 – $45,000. The base salary offered will be determined by factors including, but not limited to, experience, credentials, education, certifications, skill level required for the position, the scope of the position, and geographic location. Actual base salary offered will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
