Shift: 9:00a-4p

Summary:
Under the supervision of the Coordinator - Breastfeeding WIC, provides basic information, encouragement, and support for breastfeeding to pregnant and postpartum women/their families. Makes appropriate referrals. Assists with the breastfeeding activities of the Cuyahoga County WIC Program. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.
Qualifications:
Required: HS Diploma or passage of a high school equivalency exam. Personal experience breastfeeding one or more infants either exclusively or substantially for at least six months (does not have to be currently breastfeeding). Has been a current or past WIC participant, OR is eligible for WIC services. Willing/able to make out-going and receive in-coming phone calls beyond assigned shifts as needed. Willing/able to accept assignment(s) at any WIC office in Cuyahoga County. Has access to reliable transportation. Expresses enthusiasm about breastfeeding. Preferred: Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Bilingual/strong cultural awareness.Physical Requirements: May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and ambulate intermittently during the day. May need to sit or stand for extended periods. See in the normal visual range with or without correction. Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction. Finger dexterity to operate office equipment required. May need to lift up to twenty-five (25) pounds on occasion. Ability to communicate in face-to-face, phone, email, and other communications. Ability to see computer monitor and department documents. Requires some exposure to communicable diseases or body fluids. Requires some exposure to chemicals. Physical Demands:
