Location: Preference will be given to candidates who can work full time M-F out of our Shelton, CT office. However, consideration will be given to Hybrid and Remote candidates in the surrounding states.
Purpose
This role will be a pivotal part of PerkinElmer's global Commercial Finance team, offering an exciting opportunity to gain valuable regional and global experience to support your professional growth.
In this role, the Commercial Finance Director is responsible for providing financial oversight and support for our dynamic and fast-paced Analytical Solutions and Customer Enablement Sales team, while leading activities such as budgeting, forecasting, ad hoc analysis, and process improvement to drive the commercial success of our business. In this high-visibility role, the Commercial Finance Director will own global revenue, margins, and selling-related costs for the largest segment at PerkinElmer, working closely with senior finance and business leaders across the company. We are seeking a motivated and strategic teammate with a keen eye for detail who thrives in a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead a global team in managing a ~$800M P&L within PerkinElmer, focusing on key financial metrics (revenue, margins, price/volume/mix, customer past dues, salesforce effectiveness, etc.) to drive business performance.
- Partner with commercial leadership to deliver actionable financial insights that drive revenue growth and maximize profitability, leveraging detailed analysis to enable data-driven decision-making.
- Serve as a strategic advisor to division leadership, offering recommendations to navigate ambiguity, accelerate profitable growth, and implement new technologies and processes to enhance financial and operational decision-making.
- Develop and implement the annual operating plan and financial forecasts, ensuring alignment with business goals, and providing insights into performance. Oversee both annual and long-term financial planning cycles, analyzing market trends, gross margins, headcount, and other key drivers.
- Support key commercial deals, providing input on pricing, contract structures, and financial viability to drive profitability.
- Lead efforts to improve financial processes and drive operational efficiency, eliminating non-value-added activities, enhancing data governance and reporting, and collaborating across teams to optimize financial operations.
- Manage special projects and ad-hoc financial reporting, providing insights to support decision-making and ensure alignment with emerging business needs and strategies.

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business
- 10+ years of relevant business experience in Finance with a track record of scalable success, including leading a team
- Experience in a global manufacturing organization

The annualcompensation range for this full-time position is $160,000 to $200,000. The final base pay offered to the successful candidate will be determined by factors including internal equity, work location, as well as individual qualifications, such as job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
