The hours for this position are Monday-Friday 7AM to 3PM.
The hourly rate is $25-$29 per hour.
Core Responsibilities:
- Contributes towards the behavior-based safety culture of AZEK Company / TimberTech.
- Conducts material trials and activities in lab under supervision.
- General knowledge of materials and characteristics of these materials.
- General knowledge of Extrusion process lab scale (TC-35, Brabender) and production scale (twin screw, single screw, co-extrusion)
- Basic support of trials in lab, pilot and production. (ie) calibrate feeders, collect and ID samples.
- Basic knowledge of general lab testing and measuring equipment. (ie) measuring tap, scales.
- Conducts product testing under supervision, including flexural properties, O.D. weathering exposure studies,
CTE, water immersion, etc. - Collects and reports data to the appropriate personnel.
- Demonstrates strong organizational skills.
- Ability to identify anomalies in data and to communicate with project owners accordingly.
- Provides manufacturing support as required.
- Assists with material testing and evaluation. (ie) lubricants, stabilizers, process aids, resins, colors etc.
- Contributes towards continuous improvement in Research and Development area.
- Strong computer skills to include Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Smartsheet and Outlook.
- Proficient mathematical aptitude.
- Precise and articulate written and oral communication.

Qualifications:
- One to three years in a similar position; Thorough knowledge of general lab testing and measuring equipment (scales, density, beakers, etc.)
- Ability to run an extruder (lab or production), preferably twin screw and single screw as well as co-extrusion equipment.
- Strong computer skills to include: Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Education Requirements:
Associate degree (two-year college or technical school) or Work Equivalent, Field of Study: Polymer Science, Materials, Plastics, Chemical Engineering or Engineering Technology.
Bachelor's degree Chemistry or Chemical Engineering and 3+ years of experience in a lab technician position with a wide spectrum of testing instrumentation and procedures, preferred.
