Physical Therapist- Physical Therapy I/P FLOAT

Location: MetroHealth Old Brooklyn Campus

Biweekly Hours: 80.00

Shift: Tuesday-Saturday; 2 holidays/yr

Summary:


Evaluates and treats patients by physical measures and the use of therapeutic exercises and rehabilitation procedures (with or without assistive devices) for the purpose of preventing, correcting, or alleviating disabilities. Patients may include neonates through the geriatric population. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.

Qualifications:

Required: Bachelor's Degree, Master's Degree, or post-graduate certificate in Physical Therapy from a school accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) Holds a Physical Therapist licensure in the State of Ohio Possesses current BLS certification, or obtains within 90 days of hire Ability to travel to satellite locations. Preferred: Membership in the APTA Physical Requirements: • Ability to walk without assistive device and to maintain balance despite sudden load in order to support patient from falling during ambulation and/or gait training. • Ability to lift and reach with arms sufficiently to lift patient's arm or leg during exercise program. • Sensation of touch and manual dexterity to be able to palpate muscle tension or to monitor patient's pulse. • Visual acuity to observe patient's gross movement, gait, etc., in order to analyze biomechanical problems. • Ability to speak clearly enough to instruct patients and families who may not be able to read. • Ability to hear or understand patient's description of symptoms and response to treatment. Frequently (25-75% of the time) performed tasks Standing, sitting with and without back support, walking, reaching (overhead, forward, lateral, and low), crouching, balancing, lifting 5-25 pounds, carrying 5-10 pounds, and pushing up to 75 pounds Occasionally (5-25% of the time) performed tasks Stooping, climbing, lifting or moving 24-50 pounds, carrying 10-25 pounds, and operating power tools and machineryPDN-9e754b71-2d34-4810-bd43-d8bc5dc59c2e
