Salary: The base salary range for this position is dependent upon experience and location, ranging from $111,000-$139,431
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Education & Experience Required:
Bachelor’s degree with 7 years relevant experience required. Degree in Engineering or experience in energy industry preferred. MBA preferred Experienced in contract negotiations and supplier management Project Management Professional Certification preferred Understanding of quality assurance processes (QMS, EMS, ISO 9000, ISO 14000) and implement with project structure
Skills/Abilities:
- Knowledge and skill in utilizing SAP and MS Technologies, as well as knowledge of construction standards, operating maps and accounting principles.
- Proficient in SAP, Excel, Access, GIS, and SmartMap.
- Strong project management, time management, & decision-making skills.
- Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and maintain flexibility.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong ability on integrating Scheduling IT tools and software: MS Project with costs and resource requirements.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Public presentation skills and ability to summarize concepts utilizing Microsoft Project
- Proven ability to lead teams and work in a team environment
JOB SUMMARY:
Scope of Work
The Project Manager - Major Construction, is responsible for leading and coordinating multiple complex activities. This includes partnering with internal and external stakeholders to help coordinate planning, design, execution, monitoring and closeout of complex transmission line projects. The Project Manager - Major Construction will manage high value, long duration and high impact infrastructure projects located in Connecticut. Projects managed include but are not limited to new transmission line installs and rebuilds with voltages ranging from 34.5kV to 345kV projects.
These projects are large value heavy construction efforts executed through several contracts put in place and managed by the Project Manager. The Project Manager will manage resource requirements, priorities, investment plans, project execution strategy and internal/external resource requirements. Responsible for the overall project control and coordination of the scheduling, budget and reporting processes and functions.
MAJOR ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Scope of work - range of responsibilities):
Works within the project unit, managing internal and external project resources. Oversees project budgets, O&M and Capital. Analyzes project performance and initiates actions to control scope, schedule, and cost performance. Proactive approach to overseeing work measures progress and takes actions to ensure budgets and deadlines are achieved. Approves project plans, executes contract strategies to undertake work and controls and authorizes expenditures. Initiates actions to ensure compliance with a project management and quality management processes and procedures. Assures that projects are completed within the approved scope, schedule, and budget. Informs management and project teams regarding cost and schedule performance variances and corrective action required. Coordinates with other departments, consultants, attorneys, utilities, municipal stakeholders and local permitting agencies, regulatory agencies, government agencies, and major customers. May represent the company and testify in regulatory hearings or at Federal, State, local agency, or municipal meetings. Responsible for Project accountability overview, making sure it complies with FERC, NERC, and any other applicable regulation. Considers innovative ways to undertake work, promoting automation and efficiencies in day-to-day work streams. Provides recommendations on policies and goals desired and implements new/revised processes and procedures according to established guidelines. Responsible for ensuring the risk control system is utilized. Responsible for Risk definition, cost, and the Mitigation Action analysis. Attendance to Executive management meetings, providing and presenting reports and cost-schedule-risk views as required.
