Job Summary
The Product Manager will be responsible for overseeing a defined product category and outlining the strategic plans that move innovative products from concept to the shelves of our independent retailers. This will include product life cycle management where you will ensure we have the right portfolio to meet the needs of our customers, and our strategic market goals. This role will have significant cross-functional interaction with many groups inclusive of Sales, Supply Chain/Planning, R&D, Finance, Regulatory, and Customer Segments.

- Responsible for developing the long-term vision and strategy for a category of products inclusive of road maps, positioning, product life cycle, and overall portfolio management
- Oversee market test development and national launch plans, sales projections, line extensions, developing product messaging, marketing campaigns, and support materials
- Work with Customer Segments team to identify customer needs and opportunities that will drive product development plans • Continuously assess market trends and the competitive landscape
- Provide direction to Associate Product Managers in order to support the achievement of their career objectives.
- Works collaboratively with cross-functional departments including Sales, R&D, Production Planning, Supply Chain, Procurement, Finance, Legal, Data Management, and other Marketing partners including Consumer Engagement team.
- Align the company around the brand’s direction, choices and tactics
- Work directly with our sales team and other constituents to define new opportunities
Qualifications
Required Knowledge & Desired Skills
- 5-8 years progressive marketing experience with 3-5 years of focused product or brand management experience • Bachelor’s Degree, MBA Preferred
- Commitment to a customer-first approach
- Technical and paint application knowledge a plus • An understanding on how to gather end user insights and market information • Excellent interpersonal skills for interacting both within the marketing function, within the company, and with external agencies and customers
- Thrives in a team oriented environment, with collaborative approach to getting things done
- Strong communication and presenting skills • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities, with outstanding execution skills with a strong attention to detail
- Strong analytical skills
- Ability to regularly travel to our R&D facility in Flanders, New Jersey.
- Ability to travel, as needed, to visit retailers, and end users throughout North America and internationally as well. Travel is approximately 20%.
- Excellent budget-management skills and proficiency Proficient in Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS WORD
