Are you a Mechanical or Chemical Engineering student with a desire to learn and grow in your field of study? Do you have a passion for the environment and want to be a part of a company focused on creating a sustainable future? The AZEK Company’s intern/co-op program will provide you with hands-on engineering experience in a manufacturing setting, as well as exposure to the fascinating world of sustainable outdoor building products.

This is a paid internship where you will report directly to a Sr. Manufacturing Engineer. Throughout your time with The AZEK Company, you can expect to participate in meaningful project work and professional learning opportunities that will help you grow as an engineer and as a future professional.

During your time with AZEK, you will also get exposure to, and an opportunity to network with, other interns, AZEK employees, and company executives. 

Location:  Wilmington, OH

Time Commitment & Expectations: 

  • AZEK’s summer Intern program runs from May 19th, 2025 – August 8th, 2025. Participants must be available for at least 11 out of the 12 weeks.
  • Program runs for 40 hours/week, with the exception of the week of Memorial Day & Independence Day (unpaid holidays)
  • Participants must be available for two in person events
    • Wilmington, OH week of June 2nd
    • Chicago, IL the week of July 21st or 28th
  • Weekly Lunch & learns 45-90 minutes

Travel Requirement(s):  10%

Position Summary:  Assist the plant engineering teams in the execution of process improvement and infrastructure projects through knowledge in mechanical/chemical engineering. Specific projects for this summer include process documentation through piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) by utilizing AutoCAD software, construction management, process improvement work, and infrastructure improvements.

  • Sense of ownership for your projects and ability to make it yours.
  • A mix of 50% desk work and 50% in plant work.

What you’ll learn:

  • How you can use your knowledge in CAD to increase process knowledge and visibility.
  • By being on the team, you will learn about the sustainability of PVC and polyethylene and how the AZEK Company utilizes the country’s recycle streams to make products that last.
  • How capital projects are managed and executed from idea to inception.

Ideal Student:

  • Current undergraduate or graduate student studying Mechanical or Chemical Engineering at an accredited college or university.
  • High academic standing (Preferred GPA – 3.0+).
  • Successful completion of a minimum of 60 credit hours.
  • Able to participate in at least 90% of the program May – August.
  • Willing to relocate to a geographic location with an AZEK facility, if needed, upon graduation.

Students must be eligible to work in the U.S. without immigration sponsorship.
