National Grid is hiring an Project Manager for ourGrid Modernization Execution team within NE Electric Project Management and Construction, for our Worcester, Massachusetts location. This is a hybrid role (50% in the office/field).

Job Purpose
We are seeking a dedicated individual to oversee and execute the planning, delivery, management, and governance of projects with our Grid Modernization Programs. Grid Modernization is a set of initiatives across our Electric Business that enable the future of the electric system to better integrate Distributed Energy Resources (DERs) and enable consumer interaction while driving efficiency, reliability, and safety.
In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for ensuring that Grid Modernization projects are developed in a cost-effective and purposeful manner, while also improving long-term program robustness, requirements, costs, and timelines.
Key Accountabilities
- Ensure compliance with the capital delivery process by overseeing the development and finalization of MSA (Master Service Agreement) and construction contracts. This includes managing preliminary engineering, baseline schedule, cost estimate and forecast, risk profile, and resource strategy.
- Manage project and program finances and schedules, ensuring adherence to budgetary constraints and timelines. Identify and address any deviations promptly, taking proactive measures to mitigate risks and optimize project efficiency.
- Facilitate the permitting process by liaising with relevant authorities, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations and requirements. Proactively address any permitting challenges or delays to minimize project disruptions.
- Develop and maintain effective communication channels with stakeholders, including regular reporting on project and program progress, risks, and milestones. Foster transparency and engagement, addressing stakeholder inquiries and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Share best practices and lessons learned with team.
Qualifications
Ability to foster positive and collaborative relationships with company personnel, contractors, regulatory representatives, and town/city officials.
Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline is strongly preferred. However, candidates with degrees in other relevant fields, coupled with significant experience in project management, engineering, construction, and operations, will also be considered.
1-3 years of experience in engineering, project management, utility construction, or equivalent relevant experience.
Valid driver's license with a safe driving history that meets National Grid's Safe Driver policy

Salary: $102,000 - $120,000
