Scrum Master/Project Manager

Location: Tampa, Florida (Hybrid)

Employment Type: 6 month contract with potential to extend or convert perm

*Must be able to work on W2 basis without sponsorship

Role Overview

We are seeking a hybrid Scrum Master and Project Manager for a significant modernization effort. The selected candidate will support a multi-year project focused on moving legacy mainframe applications to the cloud while adding new business enhancements. This position requires a professional who can establish governance, manage project milestones, and ensure full transparency with stakeholders in an adapted Agile environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct Agile ceremonies and manage project milestones, dependencies, risks, and issues.
  • Support the Product Owner with release planning and maintaining a healthy, prioritized backlog.
  • Build strong partnerships with the Product Owner, IT lead, and squad through open communication.
  • Manage project schedules and coordinate resources to deliver projects within budget and timeline.
  • Champion continuous improvement within the squad and adapt to process changes.
Required Qualifications

Experience: Experience as a hybrid Scrum Master and Project Manager.

Technical Skills: Proficiency with Jira is required. Experience with PPM tools is a nice-to-have.

Soft Skills: Must be assertive and possess the ability to push back when necessary to ensure project integrity. The role requires strong interpersonal skills to navigate stakeholder dynamics and build rapport with squad members.

Preferred Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Previous software development lifecycle experience.
  • Experience in high-risk financial services environments.
  • Scrum Master certification is a plus.

Compensation & Benefits

The anticipated pay rate for this position is between $50.00 and $55.00 per hour. Please note that the pay rate may be adjusted based on the candidate's experience, qualifications, and the specific work location.
