POSITION - Union: Utility Worker

NUMBER OF POSITIONS: 1

LOCATION: RGE-NY-Canandaigua

HOURLY RATE - $13.93-$19.47

Utility Workers are general laborers and helpers used to assist in the gas and electric crew environment under the Chief’s, Foremen or crew lead direct supervisor with the following duties appropriate to their training and skill level:

• Loading and moving material

• Running for parts or equipment

• Setting up of work zones

• Hand digging and backfilling

• Flagging traffic

• Transporting vehicles

• Brush dragging

• Lawn and road restoration

Utility Workers shall not function in any technical aspect of the professionals they assist. They may be used when needed to assist the follow areas:

• Line

• Cable

• TM&R

• Substations

• Stores

• Gas Construction

• Fleet

• Storm restorations in the following capacity: Office Helper, Public ice and water distribution centers, Transporting fleet vehicles, Supply helper, Wire guard

Utility Workers will not work directly on or in close proximity to live gas or electricity.
